Sondi is a contemporary jeweller who specialises in mokumé gane, a traditional Japanese technique combining up to 24 different layers in 'woodgrain metal'.

Her distinctive style reflects a passionate approach to life and practice. She creates commissioned and limited edition pieces that have a disciplined continuity of design and use of materials that relate to an instantly recognisable style and character.

Spanning thirty years of professional practice, Sondi’s Studio, as she is known, is an experienced teacher and mentor to aspiring contemporary jewellers. She has taught at Sydney’s Enmore Design Centre, conducted workshops throughout Australia and has collaborated with architects, artists and jewellers.

She has exhibited in many group shows and jewellery competitions. Her last show was Poetic Licence, with Mountains and Metal at Lost Bear Gallery, Katoomba.  Her work features in the book 500 Brooches.

Sondi teaches jewellery workshops in her studio in the bush near Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains world heritage area. For more information about contemporary jewellery and Sondi's work see Oz Arts

Lately her favoured work is remodelling unused jewellery. She also embraces the making of mourning pieces.
